3. How Information Is Used

The data stored by SmartTabs is used exclusively to deliver and improve core functionalities:

• To prevent browser tab duplication by validating currently active URLs.
• To execute background schedules and automation routines configured by you.
• To display local performance metrics inside your extension dashboard.

To provide seamless tab automation, SmartTabs requests specific browser permissions. Each permission is utilized solely for its declared purpose:

• Tabs: Required to query currently open tabs, detect active duplicates, and orchestrate new tab creations sequentially.
• Storage: Required to securely persist your custom workspace state, user preferences, and dashboard configurations locally on your machine.
• Notifications: Utilized solely to push system confirmations and alerts regarding background workspace executions.
• Alarms: Used to trigger automated, scheduled environment launches at user-defined intervals (e.g., Morning routines).
• Context Menus: Grants the ability to register native right-click shortcuts to append current pages directly to a workspace.
• Commands: Allows the execution of global keyboard shortcuts mapped to your workspaces.

5. Data Storage

SmartTabs employs a strict Zero-Server Architecture. All configuration parameters, workflow schemas, and saved URLs reside exclusively inside your browser's local sandbox environment (utilizing the chrome.storage.local API).

Unless explicit cloud-sync functionality is introduced and opted-into in future versions, your data is never transmitted to our servers or any external databases.

6. Third-Party Services

SmartTabs does not integrate with third-party tracking software, advertising networks, or external analytics SDKs inside the extension. Your usage remains fully contained within your Google Chrome or Chromium-based browser environment.

7. Cookies

While the SmartTabs Chrome Extension itself does not use cookies, our public marketing website may use minimal, standard functional cookies to ensure proper page rendering and track aggregate site performance. • Right to Erasure: You can completely and permanently delete all your SmartTabs data at any time by uninstalling the extension or utilizing the "Purge Sync" button in the extension settings.
• Right to Portability: You may export your workspace configurations as a portable JSON file directly from the application's dashboard.

Our extension and website are designed for professionals, developers, and students.
